Application of automation in charging systems

In industrial processes, loading bulk or packaged products is a critical link in the chain. An error at this stage not only leads to loss of material, but can also lead to unsafe situations or delays in logistics.

Our automation solutions ensure proper timing, positioning, quantity and safety in loading. These include automatic starting of conveyors, opening of valves, control of flow, filling to the correct weight and shutdown of the system after completion. This takes into account operator safety, material behavior and speed of loading.

Custom engineering and manufacturing

Every loading application is different – depending on the type of product, the desired capacity, the physical setup and the logistics workflow. That’s why Gerbin Control custom designs each control system.

We tailor the controls to the charging infrastructure in place and ensure intuitive and clear operation. The systems are designed in EPLAN, built with robust industrial components and extensively tested for reliability, safety and accuracy. Integration with, for example, weighing systems, safety sensors or load tracking modules is also possible as standard.

Our loading systems are equipped with monitoring for pressure, weight, position and fill rate. Through sensors and feedback, every part of the process is monitored and adjusted as needed. In this way, we prevent overloading, product loss or damage to packages or vehicles.

In case of deviations or malfunctions, the operator receives clear notifications via HMI or SCADA so that quick and appropriate action can be taken. The result is a stable, safe and efficient loading process – without surprises.

Our systems are easily linked to external systems, such as ERP, batch systems or production planning. This allows loading orders to be created and processed automatically. For example, on the basis of order numbers, waybill data or weighing data. This prevents human errors and speeds up the logistics process.

In addition, loading data such as weight, time and sequence are automatically logged, contributing to traceability and reporting.

Bulk or product loading installations are often located in dusty, wet or changeable environments. Therefore, we build all our systems with durability, protection and ease of maintenance in mind. The panels feature industrial housing, correctly sealed cable entry and clear internal layout.

This keeps the system functioning reliably even during intensive deployment and under harsh conditions.

Frequently asked questions about loading system automation

What is a loading system automation and why is it important?

A loading system automation is an automated control system for loading products or raw materials into transport vehicles or storage units. The system ensures that loading is done quickly, accurately and safely – without manual intervention. This prevents waste, increases efficiency and reduces risks of errors or accidents during the loading process.

We supply loading systems for a variety of applications, including filling trucks, containers, silos, big bags and storage bins. These systems are widely used in bulk handling, chemical, recycling, food industry and logistics centers. Each system is designed based on the product type, desired capacity and existing facility.

Our systems work with sensors, weighing signals and component feedback to accurately monitor the loading process. Among other things, the system measures fill rate, weight, vehicle or package position and the status of valves or conveyors. Through the control panel or SCADA, the operator can see in real-time what is happening, including fault reports or anomalies.

Yes, we can link the loading system to existing PLC networks, SCADA, ERP or MES systems. For example, loading can start automatically based on an order, batch data can be retrieved, or weighing data can be fed back directly to the ERP. This increases the level of automation and better connects the loading process to the overall production logistics.

Our systems are equipped with safety relays, emergency stop devices and monitoring for overvoltage, overload or mispositioning. If necessary, we integrate signals from fencing, sensors or light barriers. This prevents loading while a person or vehicle is incorrectly positioned. Everything is aimed at safe and fault-free operation, in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Sure. We supervise the installation and commissioning of the system on site. In addition, we provide complete technical documentation, clear electrical schematics and support operators or technical service in adjusting and maintaining the system. If required, we also provide aftercare and updates for future modifications or expansions.
